GULAN GAMEPAD (FOOTSCRAY ARTS TARNUK-UT BAANY 2025)

I am a multidisciplinary composer, sound artist, and proud Worimi descendant experimenting at the intersection of music, technology, and First Nations storytelling. My work spans film/dance scoring, contemporary classical composition, and immersive installation, often incorporating modular synthesis, field recordings, and responsive audio-visual systems.
In 2024, I was awarded the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra First Voice Commission to create Seven Sisters, a major orchestral work inspired by the pleiades star constellation and its dreamtime story alongside Japanese/greek mythology. In 2025, I was selected for Footscray Arts Centre’s Tarnuk–ut Baany program, where I developed an interactive sound and visual installation that allows audiences to shape sonic landscapes through game controllers and gesture-based inputs.

I have collaborated with leading First Nations artists and organisations including Bangarra Dance Theatre’s Yuldea and NITV, composing original scores for live performance, dance, and screen—including An Act of Being, a major new work for VIVID Sydney 2025 created in collaboration with Bangarra and featuring Fred Leone.

With a practice grounded in cultural responsibility and sonic experimentation, I aim to create spaces of reflection, transformation, and deep listening—where sound becomes a vessel for memory, identity, and connection.
